1966, a Beatles-obsessed teenage Ceylonese boy is heartbroken when disaster forces the sale of his lifelong companion, the mighty tusker Kundala, to a zoo in New Zealand, where a slanderous newspaper article sees the boy and his elephant playing a wild game of hide-and-seek through the ‘Land of the Long White Cloud’.
